From Big Picture Thinking to Tiny Joys – How TPM’s Ops Manager Micky Lee Shapes the Way We Work

Not all superheroes wear capes – some build the systems, culture and rituals that keep a company running at full heart and full speed. Meet Michaela Lee, our Operations Manager, the force behind seamless onboardings, smooth operations and the thoughtful details that make working at Two Palms just work. On this week’s People We Work With, Micky lets us in on her time-freezing dreams, a surprising camping obsession and her ultimate karaoke anthem, courtesy of Miley Cyrus.

Explain your job as if you’re talking to a 10-year-old.

What does Operations even mean?! Well, I guess it means I make sure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes. From IT management and streamlining systems and processes to onboarding our newest team members under the Palms, I’ve got it covered. Oh, and I also keep the office snacks flowing! I guess you could say the team are my client.

What was your biggest failure/mistake and how did you turn it into a positive?

I think my one superpower would be to freeze time. Sometimes there’s just not enough hours in the day!

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I’m a total ‘geek’ when it comes to the types of movies I love to watch. You can never watch The Lord of The Rings too many times. What about a Marvel movie marathon? Say no more. I also have a new found LOVE for camping which some people just can’t get their head around.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

This is a tough one! I love karaoke. I think my go-to is probably The Climb by Miley Cyrus. But if I’m going for something more upbeat, then Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae is a crowd pleaser.

What’s the most ridiculous fact that you know?

I read a book when I was younger called Did you know you’re drinking dinosaur pee? – I’ll leave that one with you!
